All about Symbols

There are three Reiki symbols in use which start at level 2; the third Reiki symbol is used when a practitioner reaches level 3. These symbols are sacred to the practitioner, so as a mark of respect they will not be shown in this article, merely described. The Reiki symbols are meant to be kept secret and only shown to those who have attained the necessary level which qualifies them to use those particular symbols.

What is Reiki

Reiki principles are based on the Universal life force energies and is a hands on healing art. There are many ways of using Reiki with the art being passed from a master to his pupil in stages and over a period of time. The word reiki is copied from two Japanese words Rei and Ki. These are the words that denote the "Universal Life Force and energy.
Reiki uses a person's own aura to assist in their healing, This aura is known as Chi and when Reiki is used, the practitioner helps to strengthen the aura of the person they are healing.

What is a Reiki Master

A Reiki master is a practitioner who has worked through the different Degrees of Reiki to the level where they can 'attune' others into the 'universal life energy' allowing others to tap into this energy and help to heal others. Becoming a Reiki Master is a powerful self development tool as Reiki Masters have a good understanding of how the Reiki energy works as the energy becomes much more powerful as does the intent for which Reiki will be used.

Group Healing

In a group healing session, several hand positions can be carried out at once by different therapists, thereby enabling a Reiki session to take less time.

The receiver will experience a much stronger burst of Reiki energy, receiving the benefits of the full Reiki healing much quicker. If a group of therapists have worked together over a period of time and learned to work well together, then as a team they can achieve much more healing than if they were working alone.

Hand Positions

Reiki treatments are carried out on a one to one basis, in a quiet, tranquil environment. The treatment is passed from a Reiki Master to the recipient. The Reiki practitioner works by placing his/her hands on the recipient and willing for healing to be passed on to the recipient by means of the Reiki energy flowing from the Reiki practitioner to the recipient.
