Reiki Symbols

There are three Reiki symbols in use which start at level 2; the third symbol is used when a practitioner reaches level 3.
These symbols are sacred to the practitioner, so as a mark of respect they will not be shown in this article, merely described.

Reiki symbols and secrecy.
The Reiki symbols are meant to be kept secret and only shown to those who have attained the necessary level which qualifies them to use those particular symbols.
One of the many reasons these symbols are kept secret is because many people claim to be a Reiki Practitioner, when in reality they know very little about it. However the symbols are now freely available both in written books and online if the reader wishes to explore them further.

A Reiki Treatment
A Reiki treatment is one of the most pleasurable experiences one can have. It's non-invasive, not uncomfortable, you don't have to undress for it, you can lay down, or you can sit up. It's preferable to lay down to get the most out of it as you can totally relax, but if you are unable to, for whatever reasons, then sitting is fine too.

Absent healing and Reiki
When a practitioner has undergone their Second Degree course of Reiki, they will have been attuned with the 'distant' symbol which will enable them to carry out healing over a distance. This means that they don't have to be in the same room, same town or even same country in order to heal them! it can be literally done long distance because it is only in the physical world that time and distance matter. When healing over a distance, it is the same as if the practitioner is in the same room as the person they are healing.

An overview
Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". Reiki is in fact "spiritually guided life force energy." which is used to relieve illness and other maladies. Reiki is a technique which can also be used to relieve stress and it helps to promote relaxation. It is a technique that involves the laying on of hands of the practitioner to the person whom he is trying to administer healing.

Different forms of Reiki
There are several forms or streams of Reiki. You will more commonly hear of the Usui or Usui Shiki Ryoho form of Reiki, but there is also Karuna ™ Reiki, Natural Reiki, Osho Keo Reiki, Seichim and Sekhem - of Ancient Egyptian origin. Raku - Kei, Tibetan Reiki, Radiance Technique - American counterpart for Usui shiki Ryoho, Reiki Jin Kei Do - Buddhist, Men Chhos Reiki - Buddhist, Seichem - not to be confused with Seichim, Tera Mai Reiki and also more recently Quantum Touch.

Reiki Courses
There are many courses and workshops available today where you can learn the basics through to the Master levels of Reiki. These are First Degree, Second Degree and Master/Teacher courses.
